It refreshed and released three new product sections and comprehensively upgraded its strategy and market, presenting a fresh posture to fully respond to the new cycle of the lithium battery market.
“Ask the Top” technology upgrade, aiming for the peak of energy
In the lithium battery race, achieving the highest energy density has always been the focus of technological competition and the “obsession” of industry insiders, and this is especially true for REPT Battero. In August 2022, REPT Battero officially released a set of data: The volume energy density of the 158Ah square lithium iron phosphate battery developed by the company reached 450Wh/ L. At that time, the volumetric energy density of prismatic lithium iron phosphate batteries in the industry was generally around 300-350Wh/L, with only pouch and cylindrical batteries reaching 450Wh/L or more. The innovation of REPT Battero is precisely the “asking the top” technology that the company has been painstakingly researching. It is reported that the “Wen Ding” technology is an original technology that is both brand-new in design and manufacturing. After its release in August 2022, the company spent over two years overcoming nearly a hundred challenges in design, process and equipment, and is expected to achieve mass production in 2024.
This technology optimizes the bending method of the tabs, allowing the tabs of the battery cells to pass through the assembly part and then be bent, and then attached to the upper surface of the adapter for conductive connection. Moreover, it uses an integrated welding technology, thereby reducing the space required for folding the tabs.
The “Asking the top” technology has multiple advantages. Its greatest advantage lies in achieving the fastest ion transport speed through the microscopic porous tunnels formed by porous electrodes and electrolyte, thereby minimizing the DC internal resistance and heat generation of the battery, and the battery’s energy efficiency performance is extremely excellent. Meanwhile, the Wending technology inherently carries a safety gene. The internal TAB shape of its battery is extremely perfect and regular, which can effectively solve industry problems such as TAB sinking and upside-down insertion.
The advantage of the “Ask the Top” technology also lies in its cross-system compatibility – it can not only empower lithium iron phosphate batteries but also be adapted to ternary lithium battery systems. This compatibility has driven REPT Battero to build a full-scenario battery cell matrix. In the power sector, it has launched a series of products such as 158Ah and 200Ah, and in the energy storage sector, it has formed a full-spectrum dedicated battery cell system covering household energy storage, industrial and commercial energy storage, and large-scale energy storage.
After the “Asking the top” technology was launched, it quickly transformed into market competitiveness. In the first half of this year, REPT Battero‘s monthly battery shipment volume set a new record of 7GWh. Among them, in April this year, the monthly shipment volume of “Asking the top” batteries exceeded 2GWh, and the cumulative shipment volume exceeded 20GWh.
At the brand day event held this time, REPT Battero once again upgraded and iterated the “Ask the Top” technology: the internal space utilization rate has increased by 3-5%, and more energy can be accommodated in the same volume. By adopting the technology of sinking the tabs without electrodes, the DCR (direct Current Resistance) is reduced by 16%. Strengthen the technological foundation and rejuvenate the products for a major explosion
At the brand day held this time, based on the leading “Ask the Top” technology, REPT Battero released several upgraded products, including two new types of battery cells: 392Ah energy storage cells and the ultra-large capacity 588Ah cells.
Among them, the 392Ah energy storage cell has an energy efficiency as high as 95%, an energy density of 415Wh/L, and a cycle life of over 10,000 times. It has passed multiple authoritative certifications such as GB/T36276-2023 and performs exceptionally well in extreme environments like high altitudes and extreme temperatures.
The 392Ah energy storage battery cell can be regarded as an all-scenario battery cell and can be applied to household storage and industrial and commercial storage. It is an all-round choice in the trend of large-capacity household storage battery cells and the generalization of household side and grid-side battery cells. Take household energy storage as an example. A single 392Ah cell can consume 1.25 kilowatt-hours of electricity. In the field of household energy storage, four 392Ah cells can easily integrate 5 kilowatt-hours of electricity, and eight cells can achieve 10 kilowatt-hours of electricity – truly achieving “light, fast, good and economical”.
Another new product, the 588Ah battery cell, has achieved further breakthroughs in terms of energy density and capacity. Its energy density has been increased to 420Wh/L, with a cycle life exceeding 10,000 times and a calendar life of up to 25 years. With an energy efficiency of 96.5%, this product can significantly reduce the cost per kilowatt-hour of large-scale energy storage projects.
Based on the above-mentioned upgraded energy storage cells, REPT Battero ‘s energy storage system products have also undergone an iteration. On this brand Day, REPT Battero highlighted the Powtrix®6.25MWh energy storage battery system, which can make the entire site operation more efficient.
The Powtrix®6.25MWh energy storage battery system has achieved four innovative breakthroughs: It has reached the industry’s top-tier ultra-high energy efficiency of 95.5%; 2A active balancing thoroughly resolves the problem of system consistency. From temperature control to earthquake resistance and then to fire prevention throughout the entire cabin, it ensures all-round safety. Simplified operation and maintenance, saving time and effort.
It is reported that the area energy density of this system has increased by 25%, the overall integration cost of the entire cabin has decreased by 10%, the land use of the entire station has been saved by 16%, on-site working hours have been reduced by 18%, and the project investment and operation costs have been comprehensively reduced through the non-drainage liquid transportation.
Especially in terms of safety, this system adopts a zero thermal diffusion design and is equipped with multi-functional protection to avoid risks from the source. It has also passed the verification of the entire cabin combustion without thermal runaway diffusion. Just as REPT Battero said, “Safety is designed and verified!”
It is worth noting that on the basis of lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium, REPT Battero has further extended the “asking the top” technology. At the brand day, REPT Battero released two highly innovative battery products: the Wuding ® solid-liquid hybrid manganese battery and the Wuding ® solid-liquid hybrid high-nickel battery.
It is reported that the Wuding ® solid-liquid hybrid manganese battery, through three core processes – single crystallization technology, in-situ precise doping, and multi-stage temperature-controlled lithium supplementation – makes manganese-based batteries more stable, efficient, and durable. The energy density reaches 290-310Wh/kg and 690-740Wh/L, with strong low-temperature stability. Even at -40 ℃, it can still maintain over 80% of its capacity. It can achieve a charge of 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes, balancing long lifespan and ultra-fast charging, and is compatible with domestic EV and PHEV new energy vehicles. At present, the product is about to enter mass production.
The Wending ® solid-liquid hybrid high-nickel battery is mainly targeted at the eVTOL/ robotics field. It has an energy density of up to 310Wh/kg and 780Wh/L, a wide operating temperature range, and high power output, which can meet the high-demand scenarios such as high-altitude operations and robotics.
In addition, at this brand day, REPT Battero also launched upgraded power batteries, PACK products and several new commercial vehicle power batteries in response to customer pain points.
For instance, the new Chenxing Ultra-fast Charging LFP-268Ah battery is mainly designed to address the pain points of long-distance logistics. It adopts a brand-new positive and negative electrode system and ultra-low binding energy electrolyte to build a high-speed energy channel.
